About Us
Shaggy & Chic is a professional and friendly health and beauty salon for dogs based in Hemel Hempstead.
The salon was first opened in 2015 by Lucy and Caz who first met whilst training at the Groom Arts Grooming Academy. After successfully gaining their Level 3 City and Guilds certificate in Dog Grooming Shaggy & Chic was created! Caz has now retired and has left the shop in the capable hands of Lucy.
We are a highly qualified team of dog stylists who pride ourselves on excellent customer care and service. Our treatments range from essential teeth cleaning to a full restyle of your dogs coat. We tailor to all of your dogs individual grooming needs including coat and health conditions.
We are fully insured and are qualified under City & Guilds.
We pride ourselves on providing a relaxing, and chilled atmosphere for our doggy customers allowing them to roam freely and socialise. The salon has air conditioning so is lovely and cool in the summer but nice and snug in the winter. We also have a secure garden, which the dogs have access to before and after there grooms for toileting and play.
We aim for your dog to enjoy the experience and be excited to come back as we know being groomed can be an anxious event for many dogs. All stylists have experience working with a range of breeds and temperaments and are lucky to be able to work closely with the hearing dogs for the deaf. We introduce and get them use to the grooming experience as puppies until they are qualified and can go out into the world as confident working dogs.
You can also spoil your pooches even more as we have available a variety of unique products ranging from doggy perfume to stylish collars, matching leads and bow ties so they will definitely stand out from the crowd! The Team
Lucy
Lucy is head stylist and is very experienced and skilled with a variety of temperaments and breeds. She owns a Golden retriever who you will often find on reception at the salon!
Ella
Ella first began working for us as an apprentice and trained with us for two years. She has now successfully completed the course and has become our senior stylist. Ella owns two Cockapoos and is a hobby breeder, so is very knowledgeable about the breed.
Edyta
Edyta is our newest member of the team but has been doing work experience in the salon for over a year alongside completing her qualifications at the Capel Manor college. She works in the salon four days a week and has already become a massive asset to the team.
